January 2013 Editorial

Boxing witnessed many great fights in 2012, but we can have even better fights in 2013 so be sure to check out one of our featured articles “Unified and Undisputed Championship Hopes for 2013” by Michael Amakor which explores the championship fights boxing needs to clear out the crowded deck of championship pretenders. Michael spent a lot of time on that article so check it out. Pattee Mak recently caught up with Alonzo Butler who will be competing in the recently announced $500,000 Great American Heavyweight Box-Off sponsored by veteran promoter Don Elbaum and Greg Sorrentino a financial backer. Who knows, but Butler may just have this box-off in the bag, so check out Pattee’s first scoop before the tournament fireworks begin. In other news, our Chief Scribe, and contrary to popular mainstream opinion, picked Marco Huck as his 2012 fighter of the year. Now you might not agree with him, but read his article and leave a comment so he can do a better job next year.
