The Chronicles of St. Michael – September 7, 2013

September the 7th is a crowded day for boxing, from the Rosecroft Raceway to the Fantasy Casino in Maryland and California respectively to Frederikshavn in Denmark and to Scotland in the United Kingdom, we have regional and world championship bouts with global implications and high stakes for the combatants and tribal fans trooping into those arenas to watch those fights, boxing is really alive and well.

In the past week though boxing learnt that former WBO and IBC Heavyweight champion Tommy “The Duke Morrison had passed away. The world of boxing remembers him for his very mean left hook and the brutal kayos he earned while terrorizing the heavyweight division. The larger boxing public remembers him best for staring in Rocky V alongside Sylvester Stallone. Altogether he will never be forgotten and he left enough knockouts and highlight reels to last us a lifetime, Good bye Tommy, thanks for the fights. We will have more on Tommy soon but in the meantime invite all your friends and get your finger food, internet connections and cable ready for a long night of knockouts tonite!!
