Super Bantamweight Shelly “Shelito” Vincent (13-0-0, 1 Ko) of Rhode Island steps back in the ring for a 10 round main event entitled “The Revival”, promoted by CES Boxing on Good Friday, April 3, 2015 at Twin River Casino, Lincoln, Rhode Island against Christina Ruiz (7-7-3) from Texas. Two belts are on the line and Shelly isn’t quite ready for a loss on her winning record.

Pattee Mak: April 3. Main Event. Twin River Casino. First appearance fighting in 2015. All your fans will be there. The opponent you seek and been calling out, well you are going to have to wait for another night because you won’t be fighting her on the 3rd and instead it’ll will be 29 year old Christina Ruiz. Tell me what do you know about her?

Vincent: Oh nahhh… LOL we still waiting for [Heather] Hardy to “heat” up… Now Christina I know she cute LOL. Nah I know she a pressure fighter, 5’3 Mexican from Texas. And that she has fought the best an it will be a war like [Jackie] Trivilino. She’s my height and I never get that look. So it’s going to make for an exciting fight.

Pattee Mak: Concerning her style of fighting, who would you compare her to in previous fights that you’ve had or during sparring sessions?

Vincent: I mean…. Can’t really compare her to any. She has her own come forward style like Triv [Jackie Trivilino]. But she is small like me and I never seen that yet. Except [Angel] Gladney, who was still bigger than me but not as tall as the rest. LOL who I am fooling, children are usually bigger than me.

Pattee Mak: LOL, you aren’t that short.

Pattee Mak: Any words you’d like to say to Ruiz?

Vincent: I ain’t leaving empty handed on the 3rd. You come forward; I come forward, so I guess we’ll be bumping some head. I can go ALL NIGHT. Not just me, you fight on fight night. I got a lot a pent up demons an once that jacket and mask come off I no longer play victim. And I’m in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE. You better throw a actual Bullet at me. Cause you’re going to have to kill me to beat me. #maskonforthecarnivalofvengence.

Pattee Mak: Are you currently away at camp right now preparing for this match up?

Vincent: I’m here now until Pete leaves with Toka [Kahn] to Cali then I’m down in NY with the Havoc crew. Then back with Pete. But yeah, we been in camp getting ready. I feel sharp already between Pete an Sharik, I feel my best. Pete turning me into a monster, an Sharik turning me into a killer. I’ve never been so eager to fight. My sis/manager Kim Cronan Gifford got my diet on point and I’ve never felt more physically or mentally ready.

Pattee Mak: Anything that your training camp had you do differently in preparation of this bout?

Vincent: The only thing that changed is Pete working me harder but he works me harder every fight LOL. An my strength is out of H.E.A.R.T Performance in New Bedford. Sharik Ali is my head strength guy now. And it’s bringing out this new beast. He trains World Champions Demetrius Andrade an Kali Reis also. #Provcity shining right now. I’m a pressure fighter. I come forward and I throw thousands of punches. Now I’m add a lil extra bang to it… I FEEL STRONG…. And this is my time… I want those straps BOTH A THEM. I’m ready.

Pattee Mak: Is it at all difficult training in Rhode Island and then in New York?

Vincent: No the ride sucks but mentally and physically is cake. I’m blessed to have the absolute best in both states. Me and Pete just mesh, we a great team. He’s also like a father to me. But when he has to go, I’m blessed when I go to NY. I couldn’t ask for a better team all around an full circle.

Pattee Mak: Any predictions of the fight?

Vincent: I’m leaving with both straps and I plan on getting her out a there. I do predict excitement an of course us ladies are stealing the show!!! That’s a promise.

Pattee Mak: Well, you definitely put on a great show regardless if you are fighting or not.

Pattee Mak: Currently you hold the Universal Boxing Federation World female super bantamweight title. This belt will be on the line for this fight and the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) female super bantamweight title is up for grabs. Are you going to be a belt collector?

Vincent: Oh hell yeah…. I’m snatching everyone I can. I want em all… I’m patient and taking the necessary steps and taking them properly. There are steps on a ladder for a reason. I don’t have the experience most the gals have. So I’m learning as I’m going. I’m pleased with my progression an success and its pace so far. Thank you to Jimmy [Burchfield] and CES. An Tito and Uncle Dre over at Havoc.

Pattee Mak: Getting away from your fight for a moment, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao. Who is your money on for this fight?

Vincent: If anyone does beat Floyd it would def be Manny… But Money winning by decision. Few years back I could see Manny possibility beating him. But not now. I’ll tell you what though Floyd definitively taking some shots. Going to be a extra exciting fight. And I’m glad I ain’t scheduled after. This is going to be the best night in boxing in decades and I’m get to enjoy it a lil. This the one we all been waiting for.

Pattee Mak: Talk to me sista. What’s this you will be appearing on the Fox CT Morning Show?

shelley1Vincent: Yes I will be featured on the Fox Ct Morning show March 25th 8-10am. Everyone should tune in an check the story out. Thank you to Lea and everyone over there for thinking of me and letting me tell my story. Also fight night we will be raffling off a signature Shelito’s Way straight jacket and mask, along with a pair of signed Havoc gloves. Be sure to grab a ticket for that. Going to be an awesome exciting card from top to bottom me and my stable mates are all working hard. Everyone should be out fight night. You never know what you’re going to get at a Shelito’s Way fight!!! From my walkout to my gear to my antics. And EVERYTHING has a deep meaning…

Pattee Mak: That is what makes you, you.

Pattee Mak: Tickets?

Vincent: Yes. You can get ticks through my facebook Shelly “Shelito’s Way” Vincent or give me a call at 860-574-5227 and I’ll drop em myself to you. Fighters have to sell their own ticks. It actually hurts them when purchased at box office. Once again thank you all for all of your constant support and love. I’m breaking barriers down and doing all was said I wouldn’t and couldn’t… And I owe that all to YOU’s… I’d be nothing without You all…. We all together got my mother and Great Grandmother smiling so hard an wide up in heaven…

Oh and a huge shout out to Striking Beauties and Dena for always holding me down…

Pattee Mak: Thanks again for doing this interview. I’ll be there supporting you that nite. Good luck on your fight.

Vincent: Thanks mamma for giving me some time and shine on Fightking’s page. You know I’m stroll through on way to locker room an say hi to my #favlighthairedgal…
