Undefeated featherweight sensation Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz Jr. (18-0, 10 KOs) will make his fifth appearance at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Friday, December 18, in a 10-round featherweight main event against Mexico City, Mexico’s Hugo “Olimpico” Partida (20-6-2, 15 KOs) for the vacant NABF featherweight title live on Boxeo Estelar on Estrella TV. Rene “Gemelo” Alvarado (22-5, 15 KOs) from Managua, Nicaragua will take on Andrew Cancio (15-3-2, 11 KOs) from Blythe, California, in the 10-round featherweight co-main event of the night.Opening up the Estrella TV broadcast, Chinese heavyweight sensation Taishan (5-0, 3KOs) will make his fourth appearance at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in a four-round heavyweight bout against an opponent Daniel Arambula (3-1 1 KO) of Guadalajara, Mexico.
Ticket holders will also have the opportunity to meet former two-time heavyweight world champion Earnie “The Black Destroyer” Shavers, who will host a special meet and greet ahead of the televised bouts at Special Events Arena from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

As in September, I once again ran out of gas in the 10th & 11th championship rounds of October & November with this column, but I recovered to complete them and will unleash a few more flurries to close out the 12th and final round.
In the first week of October, Hassan N’Dam won a UD over Curtis Stevens in an eliminator for the right to challenge Jermaine Taylor who defeated aging Sam Soliman to regain the IBF Middleweight title. How Taylor even earned this title shot is another story altogether, but it is all irrelevant as he is now the champion. However he will not have too much time to savor his victory as he has assault and battery charges pending against him and an upcoming court fight that may turn out to be the toughest fight of his life, just when things started to look up for him in boxing, we wish him luck.
