Uprising Promotions Returning to Five Star Banquet Hall in Long Island City

Brooklyn, N.Y. (Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015) – Ronson Frank’s Uprising Promotions has confirmed that light heavyweight Stephen Frank will make his professional debut when the promotion presents Friday Night Fights at the Five Star Banquet Hall in Long Island City on Friday, Jan. 29th.

“Stephen grew up in boxing,” said Raul Frank, his uncle and trainer, who enjoyed a 34-bout professional career and twice challenged for the IBF Welterweight world championship. “He has the ability, and he has everything going for him right now. I’m training him to the best of my ability to make sure he is ready for this fight.”

With Stephen making the transition to the professional ranks, Raul says there is one particular component that will play a vital role in the contest.

“One of the most important things I’ve tried to teach him is to relax and allow himself to get into the groove of the fight,” Frank remarked. “We will study the opponent and then let Stephen do what he does best – throwing punches, blocking, moving his head and slipping. The most important thing is to have him relax, and the flow of the fight will come to him.”

In terms of expectations for Jan. 29th, he predicts an entertaining night.

“Expect fireworks,” he stated. “Stephen is hungry, and he’s ready to get it on. He wants to prove that he belongs. He wants to prove that he’s grown up and to show everyone that he can fight.”

The first bell on Jan. 29th is scheduled for 7:00 PM sharp, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. The Five Star Banquet Hall is located at 13-05 43rd Avenue in Long Island City, and its intimate setting ensures that there is not a bad seat in the house. Tickets are priced at $60 for general admission and $100 for ringside seating, and there is also a table option with dinner. For pricing on those tables, call (516) 451-6773.

Friday Night Fights will continue the initiative of Uprising Promotions to KO Autism, with proceeds from the night getting donated to The School For Language and Communication Development (SLCD) in Glen Cove, New York. This card is also being sponsored by Brooklyn Brothers, Sleep Inn and Charlie’s Auto Collision in Long Island City.
