Nigg vs. Gogichashvili, WBF Title Fight May 30 In Switzerland

Power-punching Swiss prospect Mischa Nigg is set to fight for his first professional title, when he faces Georgian Ramazi Gogichashvili for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Super Middleweight title on Saturday May 30 at the Kulturzentrum Barensaal in Worb, Switzerland.

A psychology student and son of former female pro Christina Nigg, Mischa turned professional in April 2011 and surprisingly lost his second pro fight by majority decision when he was knocked down by Belorussian Dzmitry Altrokhau, who has proved to be a genuine prospect in his own right and today spots a 9-0 ledger.

Since then Nigg has won seven straight, and at 8-1 (7) he is reportedly ready for a big step up in competition against Gogichashvili, 17-5-2 (8), who, despite being seven years younger at twenty, is more experienced and has fought superior competition.

Nigg last fought this past April where he floored Bulgarian journeyman Zdarvko Nikolov three times to force a first-round stoppage, while Gogichahsvili is coming off a fifth round victory over fellow countryman George Abuladze in March.

The Nigg vs. Gogichashvili WBF International Super Middleweight title fight is scheduled for ten rounds as the headliner of a show promoted by Boxteam Thun Oberland in association with Boxing Kings. The undercard will feature several undefeated local prospects in interesting match-ups.
