Alvarez vs. Bruce to fight for IBA Title

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4TH  AT BALLY’S IN ATLANTIC CITY

On Saturday, December 4th, Star Boxing returns to Bally’s in Atlantic City, when Shamone “The Truth” Alvarez (21-2, 12KO’s) squares off against Ghana’s Ayi Bruce  (16-3, 11KO’s) in a twelve round welterweight title fight for the IBA Championship.

“We are excited to be returning to Bally’s and looking forward to showcasing Shamone in the main event, stated Joe DeGuardia, President and CEO of Star Boxing.  Shamone  is right on the cusp of the welterweight division, and with a few more good wins he will be poised for some major opportunities.  Shamone has a strong following in  Atlantic City and we are expecting an enthusiastic  crowd to pack the house at Bally’s come December 4th.  We are also looking to feature some of New Jersey’s and  the greater Philadelphia area’s top up and coming talent, so make sure to get your tickets fast, because this event figures to be a sell-out.”

SHAMONE “THE TRUTH” ALVAREZ
The 33-year-old southpaw Alvarez, is coming off a vicious 7th round knockout over Alexis Camacho in his last fight in March, also held in Atlantic City.  Alvarez, who  is known for his slick movement and boxing ability, took the fight right to the heavy-handed Camacho, dishing out a severe beating that progressively got worse and worse round after round.  Finally in the 7th a huge straight left hand sent Camacho down and out in devastating fashion.

Prior to his bout with Camacho, Alvarez lost a razor thin decision to top-rated Delvin Rodriguez in an official IBF Title Eliminator.  Coincidently, the only other  blemish on Alvarez’s record was another close decision loss in an IBF Title Eliminator to eventual IBF Welterweight Champion, Joshua Clottey.  Bruce is coming off a decision win over Doel Carrasquillo in his last fight.
