During the meeting of the World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF), its leaders reached agreements to benefit the sport.

At the meeting, which was held in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, were present; Mauricio Sulaiman Saldivar (WBC), Gilberto Jesus Mendoza (WBA) and Darryl Peoples (FIB).

Among the agreements reached, is that a tournament is expected to find a single division world champion, in order that fans will recognize a single monarch by 2016.

The weighing was another fundamental point; WBC rules applied pre-weighing 30 days, one week and one day before the fights, and is expected that all boxing bodies will adopt this rule on benefit of the fighters.

The three entities also agreed for a stricter antidoping tests, the use of certificated gloves and total respect to ranked fighters.

Sulaiman, Mendoza and Peoples will discuss these topics with their respective board of gobernors and will meet again on September 24 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, to discuss these important issues.
